If you are thinking of supporting our 1st team at Burnley, here is a message from Burnley CC.
Just wanted to provide a bit of info ahead of Saturday’s game.
As you might be aware, Burnley FC play Millwall at home (12.30 ko) next door. The game is a sell out so we’re expecting to be very busy on the day and want to make sure things run as smoothly as possible!
Traffic is likely to be busy around town within a couple of hours of kick off so it may require a little extra time for the journey.
Harry Potts Way (main road outside the stadium) will be closed to cars from around 11am so best to avoid travelling via this route although this probably won’t affect people travelling from Middleton. Access to the cricket club via Belvedere Road will still be possible.
The car park will start filling up from around 10.30 so the earlier players can arrive the better.
Players, Club Officials and Umpires will have an area reserved for parking up by the nets. Just go round the back of the pavilion and as far as you can go. We’re asking that everybody parks closely together and block each other in as they shouldn’t need to move until after the game when things have quietened down.
Unfortunately there’ll be no parking on the ground before the game for spectators. Nearby street parking is available however this is also likely to be busy close to kick off time. Parking will be fully available for everybody from around 3pm although be aware there’ll be a lot of people leaving around this time.
Entry to the match will be free for all spectators.
We have both bars inside the pavilion and the outside bar in operation all day but these are likely to be very busy during peak times. All drinks will be served in plastic glasses due to licensing conditions. Cricket spectators must not bring glass bottles into the ground.
The tearoom will remain open all day and can be accessed via the front of the pavilion. Player and scorers teas will be delivered to the dressing rooms just prior to the interval. A pizza van will be on site too serving food throughout the day.
Think that’s pretty much everything covered. Never ideal when cricket clashes with the footy but it generally goes well. Appreciate your cooperation and see you on Saturday.
Thanks,
Dan
