Middleton Skipper Dale Highton announces today that he is to stand down as Club Captain at the end of the season.

Dale said ” It has been a great experience for me to Captain the Club these last 4 years.”

He added “People know that I am not really one for speeches or thank you’s; but those who have helped and supported me over the last 4 years know who they are and they know how important their help has been.”

“Finally, I want to wish my successor all the best and I will provide assistance wherever I can, on or off the field.”

Chairman Ian Thorp said “ Dale is a top bloke and has played a huge part in the Club since he came back to play for us. It is with some sadness that I and the Club recently received his decision.”

“On a positive note, the desire to play for Middleton still burns and he is looking forward to next season as one of the lads”
