Background

 

Middleton Cricket Club is a busy sports and social club with over 600 members located in Middleton/Manchester, alongside the senior cricket teams, we also have a great junior set up and lots of junior players. The club house incorporates a large member’s bar and a busy function room (100 capacity) both boasting beautiful views over the prestigious cricket field. In addition there is a large car park with disabled access.

 

The Job

The club is run by a management committee of volunteers, who are looking to recruit a capable and enthusiastic individual to efficiently manage the bar operation of the club whilst developing our function room.

Key Responsibilities – Typical Work Activities

To be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the club, ensuring excellence in customer service with focus on opportunities for growth.

Run and take part in promotional campaigns and events to drive sales, using local initiatives and innovative ideas utilising local & social media.

Stock control and ordering, as well as budgeting and maintaining turnover

Work with the committee to develop and implement changes, to promote the club and allow the business to grow.

To serve customers as a member of the bar staff.

Management of bar and cleaning staff, including recruitment training and rotas.

To ensure all relevant staff are fully trained and proficient in their duties, taking full account of employment, environmental and health and safety legislation.

Manage function room bookings and coordinate all private functions.

Attend monthly club committee meetings to present updates on operations /progress, ideas, and solutions. Manage general maintenance of the club house facilities.

Experience Required

Two years’ experience in running a licensed premises.

Proven track record of increasing sales within the licensed trade.

Excellent customer service credentials.

Good communications, IT and numerical skills Innovative, with Can do attitude.

Experience in managing and training staff.

Experience in handling the finances of a business.

Experience in stock and cellar management.

Desirable Qualities

Relevant qualifications.

Residing locally would be a distinct advantage – Key holder Position

Package

Salary and Hours Negotiable.£25k circa

3-month probation period.
