Senior Cricket
Wednesday, 12 April 2017

We currently have three senior sides that compete in the Pennine Cricket League. Senior training is held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings 6pm - 8pm.

The 1st team, captained by George Walker are looking to leave the Pennine Cricket League on a high and win the Championship division. With a young team built around the professional, Chris Williams, it is looking like it will be a promising season for the Moonrakers. Chris is a top order batsman and an opening bowler and was a pivotal role at Unsworth before he switched to the Green and Gold of Middleton this season.

The 2nd team will be relying on experience to be successful this year. They are being led veteran Steve Holmes for the second consecutive year, and with their mix of youth and experience they are looking to be strong competitors throughout the season.

The 3rd team, or Academy side, is used to blood junior players into senior cricket. Played over only 40 overs and usually in a good spirit, it is an ideal setting for juniors who have only ever played 20 overs to begin their senior cricket.
