Gee and Kemm lay the foundations for T20 win
Wednesday, 15 June 2016

Despite the persistent downpours on Friday evening, the 1st XI managed win their second game in the Tom Hardman T20 cup competition at Towncroft.

Werneth won the toss and perhaps surprisingly took the new ball first. With only 13 overs to produce a defendable total, Tahir was out for four, however Gee scored quickly from the outset and was supported by Kemm.

Tahir was the solitary wicket for the visitors as Gee made his second half century of the competition and Kemm finished on 35 to post a total of 103.

Middleton started well with the ball. And were soon in amongst the wickets as Pritchard took two wickets in his first two overs. Although the conditions were unfavourable, Middleton stuck to the task well and Harry Gee also picked up three wickets.

To seal the win, Tom Rutter bowled a good spell to finish as Middleton won by 22 runs.
