On Tuesday night, Middleton battled hard in their match against Crompton but they fell short by 26 runs.

Batting first, Crompton scored 262 for 4 off their 15 overs, with Macy taking one wicket and Emma taking three.

In reply, Middleton ran between the wickets very well but did not hit enough boundaries. That being said, John hit the only 6 of the match, with a cultured stroke over mid-wicket.

An unbeaten fourth wicket stand of 128 runs between, sub professional, Ashar Zaidi and, captain, Steve Davey was the mainstay of a Middleton innings that chased down a total of 185 for victory over Walsden in a 45 over game.

Under 13's: Rain ends up being the Winner

Middleton were due to play away at Milnrow on Sunday 23rd june but thanks to the Great British summer the match was abandoned due to heavy rain.

U13s next game is at home on Towncroft playing host to Rochdale on Sunday 30th June. Play starts at 9.30am.

Middleton C.C. currently have three senior teams competing in the Penine Cricket League, and five junior teams.

Senior matches take place on the majority of Saturday and Sundays.

The Junior sides play on various nights throughout the week, as well as the Under 13s playing on Sunday mornings.

We have a function room that is available for hire all year round. For more information click here.

The Club is always on the look out for new members. Be it purely social or playing membership, we are always looking to expand our community.

50/50 Club
The Club hold a weekly draw. The cost is £5 per month, and the weekly prize is £50. Anybody interested should contact Peter Collinson.
